Our helpline services are open to any Bergen County, New Jersey pregnant teen or teen mom. Services include Education/Support: Delivery of baby necessities, including: diapers, formula, clothing, car seats, cribs and baby equipment. Education and assistance with pre-natal care, parenting issues, family planning, health and nutrition, life skills, money management, education options, career exploration and training. Advocacy: Assistance with resources to quality childcare; applications for NJ Family Care Medical Insurance - Medicaid; Women, Infants and Children - WIC, formula, food and diapers; Temporary Assistance for Needy Families - TANF; Food Stamps; Food Banks; Baby Basic and Section 8 Housing. Direct Services: Assistance in finding safe, affordable housing, exploration of education options, career training and opportunities, and transportation to medical appointments and social service agencies. Our plan is to open a house in late summer 2009 that will be a true home to 5 girls and their children

A Safe Haven for Newborns: 1-877-767-BABY (2229) (multi-lingual) www.njsafehaven.org/faq.html - Allows mothers, fathers or whoever is in possession of an unharmed newborn, approximately seven days old or less, to leave them at a Safe Haven facility: Any Hospital, Staffed 24/7 Fire Rescue Station, or Staffed 24/7 Emergency Medical Service Station, with no questions asked, totally anonymous, free from fear of prosecution.
